Make A Decorative  Box  with Napkins

It all Began with an Inspiration Box that I saw in a Gift Shop

Next, I found some paper napkins with similar colors.

Then I scoured thrift Stores until I found the perfect size wooden box for my project.

It was a great price because of a scratch on the top of the box.  Wood Filler to the rescue

1-2 coats of  white  chalk paint.   Allow to dry for 4-6 hours before continuing.

Leave the inside of the cedar box unfinished .

Separate the napkin layers, using only the decorative top layer.  Cut into pieces that will fit on the wooden box.  

Align napkin pieces to determine placement.  

apply mod podge and gently attach the napkin pieces.

Attach decorative pieces of the napkin to create unique design

After mod podge dries, you may need to sand the napkin edges to smooth.   

For a final finish add clear wax and buff until silky smooth.    

Add a jewelry box pull to the top of the wooden box for ease of opening.
