$1.00 Thrift Store Lamp Makeover

I found this lamp at a Habitat ReStore for only $1.00 and with a little paint and napkins it looks boutique quality

Begin by spraying THE base of the lamp with a textured paint.

My inspiration was these distressed blue and white vases. 

I found these napkins to use for my design.

Since the napkin background is white, I painted the lamp base with white chalk paint and the decorative bottom with gold.

Separate the 3 ply napkin & use top decorative layer only..

Carefully cut the design out of the napkin.  Cut around the flower designs and leaves.

Use Mod Podge & Small brush to apply

Place the napkin pieces randomly on the lamp base.

Continue to apply until the surface is covered to your satisfaction.  

After mod podge dries, apply another coat to seal.  

To distress, apply small smudges of black paint RANDOMLY on the lamp 

I purchased a new lamp shade for the recycled lamp

I love how it looks with my pillow shams
