If you plan to make your own homemade limoncello, you need to plan ahead. It takes approximately nine days for the vodka to be infused with the lemon zest. See the full recipe – Homemade Limoncello.

How To Make Simple Syrup

You can purchase simple syrup in the grocery store, but you can save money by making your own. To make your own simple syrup, add equal parts water and sugar to a sauce pan. Allow the water to heat to almost boiling or until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour into a sealable bottle and store in the refrigerator.

Here are our delicious lemon drop martini ingredients and how to mix the perfect cocktail.

Add two ounces of premium vodka and two ounces of limoncello to a measuring cup. Then add one ounce of fresh squeezed lemon juice and one ounce of simple syrup.

If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, reduce the lemon juice and add more simple syrup. Or vice versa if you prefer a tart cocktail. Each lemon drop martini recipe consists of six ounces of liquid. You can adjust the amounts to suit your taste.

Next, add your ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for approximately one minute to complete chill your martini.

How To Prepare Your Cocktail Glasses

The next steps will enhance the appearance and taste of your lemon drop cocktail.

First, I recommend freezing your martini glasses for 15 minutes before making your recipe. However, if you forget (like I usually do), add a few ice cubes and fill the glasses with water. This will chill the glass while you are mixing your martinis.

Once you have your cocktail shaken, remove the glass from the freezer or dump the water and ice in. Next, use a slice of lemon to rub it around the entire rim of the glass.

rub a lemon wedge around the rim of the martini glass to moisten before adding the sugar rim.

Fill your cocktail rimmer with sugar and press the dampened rim of the glass into the sugar. Stain the ice with your cocktail strainer and pour the liquid into the martini glass.

Garnish with a lemon slice and lemon zest curls.

Rachel, I made lots of homemade limoncello this spring with the lemons from our orchard. I will need to try this when we get back to Phoenix as all my limoncello is there and not at our cabin! Looks so delicious.
