Fall is the perfect time for outdoor entertaining. You will love these outdoor kitchen table ideas for your outdoor or fall party. See how to set a casual table with budget-friendly thrift store dishes and DIY tableware.
The outdoor kitchen at The Ponds is an old cinder box cabin that has been repurposed. I shared the before and after images and construction details on DIY Outdoor Kitchen – Before & After.
We love to entertain here all year, but Fall entertaining is lovely.

What’s In The Outdoor Kitchen?
The outdoor kitchen includes many vintage items, such as an antique cookstove and a 70+-year-old vintage Hotpoint Refrigerator that runs like a dream.
In addition, vintage and antique cabinets hold dinnerware and cutlery. They are decorated for fall using dried gourdes and mums.
The sign is a reproduction of the original sign that led to The Ponds when fishing was open to the public.
There is a vintage cast iron sink along with Brad’s gas grill and electric smoker.
The screen door above the sink was original to the cabin, and my dad built it. Therefore, it hangs as a piece of art in the kitchen.
In addition, there is room for three bar-height tables and bar chairs for dining under the covered structure when the weather isn’t good.
Another side table is decorated with a gourd and wheat garland, while the DIY Corn Husk Wreath I shared earlier is above it.
What’s Outside The Outdoor Kitchen?
The area immediately in front of the outdoor kitchen is filled with multiple bistro tables that are easily moved and rearranged for different dinner parties. The matching dining chairs are stackable for ease of storage.
There is an outdoor smoker, and a dry sink for our Low Country Boil dumps.
In addition, we have several outdoor heaters to extend the entertaining season.
Next to the water is a fire pit, and most evenings end with all the chairs pulled up close, especially on cooler evenings. Upon closer inspection, you’ll see a few dropped marshmallows from the many marshmallows roasted around the fire.
The fire pit also extends the area for cold-weather entertaining. We spent New Year’s Eve by the fire pit this past year.
Another feature is the outdoor bar which previously was a boat dock.
The DIY bar is perfect for a beverage station and allows guests to gather in multiple areas around the outdoor kitchen.
Outdoor Kitchen Table Ideas
Y’all know I love to set a table, and this casual outdoor kitchen table idea was easy and fun to put together.
The three bistro tables are combined with eight chairs for this small Pulled Pork Nacho dinner party.
The DIY Hand-Painted Table Runner was designed to coordinate with the outdoor seat cushions.
The table runner’s combination of blues and burnt orange inspired the place settings.
The blues in the thrifted, vintage Currier & Ives Dinner Plates are combined with a mix of burnt orange and tan napkins.
Woven thrift store placemats also pull colors from the table runner.
Outdoor Table Centerpiece
The narrow bistro tables only allow for a simple centerpiece, so adding a centerpiece was challenging.
Therefore, a slender handmade basket is filled with small white pumpkins and sprigs of fresh sage.
I added a fresh sage ring under the two remaining pumpkins to dress up the individual pumpkins. Also, tiny candles in glass containers are combined with brass candlesticks to complete the centerpiece
In addition, to complete the table setting, fall-shaped cookie cutters were repurposed and used as napkin rings.
