Fourth of July Outdoor Table Inspiration
Before beginning to style your Fourth of July Table, gather existing tableware that will work within your theme and build from there.
I was inspired by these gorgeous blue and white dishes and the cute watermelon slice appetizer plates, which I found while out thrifting. I felt they would be a perfect start to my unique 4th of July Table Ideas.
I also wanted to take advantage of the abundance of red geraniums that are blooming around the farmhouse.
Last fall, I split my original plants and stored them over winter. Therefore, I have so many gorgeous blooms to decorate with.
Insider Tip
Use what you already have on hand to decorate your seasonal tables.
Pull from your existing supply of dishes, placemats, etc., as well as other decor items around your home.
Think outside the box and ask yourself what you can use to make this work.
Check at thrift stores or consignment shops for additional items to fill any gaps.
Here are some additional thrift store shopping tips to keep in mind.
Bico Ceramics has so many fun dish patterns, and I fell in love with this Watercolor Blue Flower Collection. They are perfect for a Fourth of July Patriotic Table, but their classic style will work on any tablescape theme.
Unique 4th of July Table Ideas – Use Thrift Store Finds
Using thrift store finds will save you money on many of your tableware needs and help your to create unique 4th of July Table Ideas.
The cute watermelon slice appetizer plates were a fun thrift store find and are a perfect addition to the patriotic Fourth of July table.
Nothing says “Fourth of July” like a slice of watermelon! Am I right?
Fourth of July Napkins
Last year I made these fun cutlery pocket napkins, and I couldn’t wait to set a table with them again this year.
They are made with red and blue ticking strip fabrics and represent a flag design. You can see how I made them here on DIY Ticking Patriotic Napkins.
They work well with the blue and white stripe placemats that I found at HomeGoods earlier this spring.
Insider Tip
When shopping for tableware such as table runners, tablecloths, placemats, and napkins, look for classic patterns that are easily mixed with other patterns.
You can find great deals on these classic styles at HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Amazon.
Easy Outdoor Table Centerpiece
Y’all know I love a budget-minded decorating style, and I’m lucky because my geraniums are in full bloom. Red geraniums are perfect for a Fourth of July tablescape.
It was easy to just pick a few stems and add them to three separate glass bud vases.
Last summer, I shared Best Tips to Keep Geraniums Blooming all Summer, and these tips have never failed me.
In addition, the red cake stand acts as a riser to give the centerpiece a variety of heights.
The red cake stand adds a patriotic touch to the 4th of July table, and the red color is perfect for Christmas, Valentine’s, and all Patriotic Holidays.
Faux greenery candle rings surround two of the geranium-filled vases and help by adding additional greenery to the centerpiece.
I always love adding my favorite antique brass, salt, and pepper shakers because these cute birds add a little sparkle to any table.
Also, a small patriotic flag is tucked into the center vase for a patriotic touch to the alfresco table.
A couple of thrifted brass candle sticks complement the brass birds and help to balance the outdoor table.
Insider Tip
Look for good quality candlesticks at thrift stores.
I have a variety of vintage brass candlesticks in all shapes and sizes. They are more interesting when grouped together at varying heights.
I’ve recently started collecting silver and silver plate candlesticks. It’s fun to mix silver and gold for a unique 4th of July Table Idea.
A Unique Fourth of July Outdoor Party Table
To decorate inside the outdoor kitchen and around the outdoor table, I added a vintage ladder filled with plants and flags. The ladder helps to disguise the black box that my husband insists is a necessity in an outdoor kitchen. LOL.
He recently built a cabinet to hide the black box, and you can see all the details on How to Build A Shabby Chic Kitchen Cabinet.
Serving Area for Outdoor Table
Because the outdoor table is very narrow, it was necessary to use a separate table to serve the food and drinks.
This table includes a patriotic table runner, perfect for the Fourth of July. In addition, more fresh geraniums fill a DIY Earthenware Vessel. The beautiful bowls from Bico Ceramics will be perfect for dessert.
It’s wonderful to actually make plans for friends and family to gather. If you missed How to Plan Girlfriend Time, you can still see the post by clicking the highlighted area.

Rachel, your tablesape is so much fun. It reminds me of fourth of July as a kid. The watermelon plate is the best. You just can't have the fourth of July without watermelon. Hugs to you, my friend.
