Why Dollar Tree Decorations
When I was planning a Halloween Supper Club Dinner Party, I found that I was in need of some Halloween table decorations. Because I don’t usually decorate for Halloween, I needed a good supply of items to complete the tablescape. I was impressed when I decided to check out the Dollar Tree Halloween selections.
Not only was I able to get some spooky decor, but they also had a great selection of Halloween tableware items. With a few things I already had on hand, I was able to get everything I needed to decorate my table.
Halloween Supper Club Adult Dinner Party
Today’s tablescape is part of our monthly Supper Club Series.
If you are joining us for the first time, we are a group of friends who love to entertain, and when entertaining in person wasn’t recommended, we started a virtual supper club in January 2021.
We are from different areas of the country, and it’s always fun to see each person’s interpretation of the monthly theme. Meet the Supper Club Hosts.
- Stacy Ling, Bricks N Blooms from New Jersey
- Michele, Vintage Home Designs from Texas
- Jennifer, Midwest Life & Style from Nebraska
- Anne & AnnMarie, Simply 2 Mom’s from North Carolina
- I’m also from North Carolina.
We are excited to have Wendy from WM Design House with us today. Wendy is from California and is one of the most creative people I know. You are going to love her Halloween Table Decorations.
Choosing A Tablescape Theme
When choosing a Halloween tablescape theme, consider who your guests will be. Today’s party is for adults, and I wanted a spooky but creative tablescape.
Since I didn’t own any Halloween decorations, I let my trip to Dollar Tree inspire me. I immediately thought of a Witches Brew when I saw the witch pot. The skeleton charger plates and skeleton garlands enhanced the idea of a witch brew pot with creepy crawlies scampering around the table.
There are many other themes you can choose from:
- Haunted Manson
- Consider movie inspired themes such as Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street.
- Spooky Woods
- Children’s Party Themes from Movies such as Corline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bird, and more.
Dollar Tree Halloween Supplies
I found so many great items to craft a spooky but creative table setting for the dinner party.
Here is a list of the Dollar Tree Halloween supplies I used.
- Creepy Cloth for table runners
- Skeleton Charger Plates
- Spiders
- Bat Clips
- Skeleton Tongs
- Glitter Spiders
- Creepy Eyeballs
- Black stems
- Skeleton Garland
- Witches Pot
With the addition of a few thrifted tableware items that I already owned, the entire table only cost $25.00.
Budget-Friendly Place Setting
The charger plates were a surprise find and really helped to set the table theme.
First, spread the creepy clothes over the table to set up the place settings.
Next, add the fun skeleton charger plates and vintage ironstone white dishes to each place setting.
A creepy big spider adds a spooky effect to the center of each plate. The spiders were two for $1.25 and can be used as place card holders if desired.
Instead of buying new napkins, I used some old orange and beige linen napkins that I tied with pieces of the creepy cloth. The aged pewter silverware also works well with the themed table setting.
The thrifted wine stems are adorned with a single bat to complete the place setting.
Dollar Tree Table Decorations Centerpiece
I decided the table needed a unique centerpiece but wanted to keep the price down. Therefore, I needed to find a Halloween decoration cheap centerpiece. So when I saw the black pot trick-or-treat bucket, I knew it was perfect for a Witch’s Brew Pot. The creepy centerpiece was very inexpensive and easy to put together with all Dollar Tree Supplies.
The witch’s brew centerpiece is enhanced with several skeletons trying to escape up the light fixture. I used two skeleton garlands and cut them apart to tie them to glass vases. Some dried stems and sticks fill the vases that the skeletons are connected to.
You can see all the details for the DIY Witch’s Brew Pot here.
Additional Spooky Decorations That Are Budget-Minded
To continue with the spooky theme and budget-minded decor, I gathered a tree branch and painted it black. Then, I attached a few of the spooky bats and placed them on the sideboard.
The bats are combined with creepy painted pumpkins in vintage milk glass candleholders, and a milk glass vase holds fall stems.
The sideboard decorations are budget-friendly and add to the overall table ambiance.

Candlelight Halloween Supper Club Dinner Party
The addition of thrifted black candlesticks provides a candlelight view of the table just before dinner is served.
The combination of thrifted and cheap Dollar Tree decor created a stunning table arrangement that no one would guess only cost $25.00.
When planning your next dinner party, think outside the box and decorate with unique and thrifted tableware. You are sure to impress your guests with unexpected tableware choices that are budget-friendly.

All great ideas. I especially loved the black-painted branch for its natural and spooky effect. It is so creative and also cheap at the same time. It is also a great idea to pair them up with black or spooky-themed tableware to set up a unique tablescape from www.allcottonandlinen.com

Love those chargers and spiders and the centerpiece is so creatively spooky! I also shop my own house when adding to holiday decor. Your candlesticks and napkins work perfect there. Aren’t dollar stores wonderful for Halloween decorating? I confess to dipping this theme in glue and just charging headlong down their seasonal Halloween aisles, but after all it is a fun holiday!
