Get ready to add a touch of rustic charm to your holiday decor! This DIY Christmas candle ring only takes minutes to make and perfect for adding a warm, festive glow to your home. I’m using more gold in my Christmas decor this year and when I saw these small pinecones I knew they would add just the right amount of sparkle. The gold pinecone candle ring is the ideal combination of rustic elegance, with a small foraged grapevine and inexpensive Dollar Tree pinecones.

This candle ring will look amazing with any holiday decor style.  Let me show you how to make one for yourself.

How To Make A Christmas Candle Ring With Pinecones?

I wanted to make a pinecone candle ring this year but hadn’t had time to gather the pinecones. So, I ran across these gold pinecones I purchased from Dollar Tree a few years ago. I also had a small grapevine wreath made with foraged grapevine. It was the perfect size for a candle ring, so I decided they would make a unique combination for a Christmas candle ring.

Supplies

  • Approximately 12 small gold glitter pinecones (Dollar Tree from a few years ago)
  • A small grapevine ring, approximately 4-inch open center (Foraged), or purchase one like these.
  • Hot Glue Gun

How To Make Glitter Gold Pinecones

If you prefer to forage your pinecones, add the gold glitter appearance. Here is how to get the look.

  1. Gather your pinecones and clean them.
  2. Spray paint them with gold leaf spray paint.
  3. Then spray with Gold Glitter Spray Paint.
  4. Or, if you want a heavy glitter appearance, use a spray adhesive to cover the pinecones.
  5. Sprinkle heavily with gold glitter.
  6. Shake off excess glitter and allow it to dry. Then, follow the remaining DIY candle ring tutorial.

How To Make Flocked Pinecones

If you’d prefer a snowy Christmas candle ring instead of the gold glitter, you can easily create one with this technique.

  1. Gather and clean your pinecones.
  2. Make a mixture with Lightweight Spackle to brush on the tips of the pinecones. See full details at How To Add Fake Snow in Two Easy Steps.
  3. Then, follow the DIY Christmas candle ring tutorial.

Easy To Assemble Candle Ring

To assemble the DIY candle ring, place the grapevine ring on a piece of wax paper or other protective, non-stick surface.

Add hot glue to the bottom of the pinecones and press them onto the grapevine. Hold until the glue sets.

Nestle all the pinecones together closely until the ring is filled.

How To Decorate With Christmas Candle Ring

Now you are ready to decorate with the DIY Christmas candle ring. I recommend using a battery-operated pillar candle for safety.
