Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.
How has your first week of March been? We have experienced a combination of warm days, cold days, and rain.
We stayed at the beach until Thursday because we needed to pick up the slate roofing shingles I mentioned last week. Fortunately, we were able to load them before the heavy rain began.
Upon arriving home, the first thing we noticed was that the forsythias were in full bloom. Even with all the rain, it was hard to resist capturing this spring-like view.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road
This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.
While hanging around for a few unexpected days, we took advantage of the spare time to visit with some friends who had moved to the coast. We traveled to Southport for lunch on the water. It was a blustery day, so we enjoyed the view from inside Oliver’s Restaurant.
Ya’ll, know that when I’m at the beach, I love to visit some of my favorite shops in Wilmington. After loading the shingles, the bottom fell out, and we dashed into Ivy Cottage to wait out the storm. With a little extra time to explore, we found two treasures to bring home.
The blue and white oyster plate was a must-have, and I couldn’t resist this cute bird bath. I think it will be a great centerpiece on our screened porch for Summer.
In addition, we spotted some free roadside trash that I have plans to update for my Spring garden. We were on our walk and built up our muscles carrying these treasures home.
