Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures: The Dog Days Of Summer! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.
Wow, has it been hot? We spent most of the week at the beach; even with the ocean breeze, it was so hot. I’d like to complete several outdoor projects, but I just don’t have the energy in this heat.
However, we did have a fun time with some friends who were staying at Kure Beach for the week.
We also celebrated Rudy’s 6th birthday. He received lots of love, which he likes better than treats.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road
This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.
We did a little vintage shopping at Legacy Salvage. I love going there because they have some much wonderful architectural salvage from all around the Wilmington area. I’ll share my finds under My Thrift Store Finds. Here are some of the displays we enjoyed on this trip.

On our way back, we quickly stopped at Habitat ReStore and found this great wooden bowl and a cute white pear dish. I’m loving all these great finds.

Rachel, glad that you spoiled your dog on his birthday! Loved that picture of him! I know he gets spoiled all the time! Right? We sure miss our little Princess. She was a 5 lb. Maltese and was 16 years when she had to go to Doggie Heaven. We just miss her so much. This was our third little dog that had to go to Doggie Heaven and we decided that we weren't going to get another dog at our age! It's just so hard when you have to let them go due to health problems. I still have tears and it's almost 2 years now.
I really enjoyed your DIY on redoing a lampshade -- and it came at the perfect time as I need to recover 2 of my shades. Thanks, so much, for sharing this. Your instructions are great.

Mary-Ann, Yes, we love to spoil Rudy! I still miss our Yorkie. It took us over 4 years to get another pet. She was our baby and it was so hard to send her to doggie heaven. I'm glad you found this article helpful. Let me know if you have any questions as you begin your projects.
