Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.
Are you a fan of Architectural Salvage? Y’all know that I love vintage shopping and thrift stores. However, an architectural salvage yard might just be my favorite.
We are spending a few days at our beach cottage and decided to visit Legacy Salvage in Wilmington.
We were looking for slate roofing tiles to update the bar area of our outdoor kitchen. They had just what we needed. Initially the cost of $5.00 per piece didn’t seem so bad, however when we determined the number of tiles needed for the project, it was a little out of budget.
However, I love stopping in and exploring the old doors, fretwork, antique books & furniture, and salvaged lumber.
And then this happened.
I couldn’t let go of the idea of using the slate tiles, so I called back and asked about a bulk rate. And guess what? They offered to give us a discounted price, and we plan to pick them up on our way home.
I can’t wait to share how we plan to use them. So stay tuned.
I included more information about Legacy Salvage on Thrifting in Wilmington, NC.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road
This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.
It’s always fun to look around to look around at Legacy Salvage. There were many more items I’d love to bring home with us.
Adventurers I’ve Had This Past Week
Last week was spent really gearing up for Spring. It feels so good to bring out the Spring decor.
It’s hard to believe that within weeks we will be celebrating the beginning of Spring, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter. Before we blink, it will be summer.
As a creator, I’m always looking to the next season and deciding what projects I want to tackle. However, I think Spring is my favorite season to decorate for.
Although I constantly tweak my decor, most of my spring decor will remain out of the storage boxes through the summer months. All the boxes that are used to store garden decor, birds, bunnies, flowers, and more get to remain empty for a good six months. Much longer than any of the other storage containers.
So the bunnies and birds have already been set free for the season, and it’s already feeling like Spring inside the farmhouse.
If you missed my early Spring tour, you will see it linked here today. I hope you will find inspiration for your own Spring decorating.

Have you heard of Sous Vide Cooking?
Brad has been experimenting with sous vide cooking our steaks in our Ninja Foodi Cooker. So he wanted a searing torch, and this one just arrived. So far, he’s very happy with it. In addition, he needed a new vaccume sealer and this one works like a charm.
Brad is getting quite good, and the steaks have been amazing. I will be sharing some of his recipes with you this Spring and Summer, so stay tuned.
We just received two bottles of Garden Goose Repellent. We don’t mind the geese on the ponds but want to keep them out of our yard.
Also, if you haven’t purchased Stacy’s new gardening book, you will want to add it to your cart. Click the image below to shop.
I hope you have the best week, and I look forward to sharing all my adventures with you.
