Dirt Road Adventures: Recovering From Our New England Adventure

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures: Easter Sunday! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.

Hey friends,

It’s been a fun week of trying to recover from our amazing trip to New England. We began our adventures in Boston, MA, and moved up the coastline to New Hampshire and Maine. I’ll share more details as I get settled back into my routine. However, I thought I’d share a few highlights of our 8 day trip and some of our destinations. So check it out!

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

We landed in Boston at 9:30 on Saturday morning so we had the whole day to explore. We walked just over 8 miles that day and had a wonderful first experience.

Then we headed up the coast to York, Maine, for lunch with my thrifting buddy Ann from Dabbling and Decorating. We met at such a charming outdoor restaurant and had a wonderful lunch while Ann made more recommendations for our week in New England.

In addition, we got to visit Ann’s home, check out her cute vintage car, and meet Ella for the first time. I’ll share more about our visit soon.

Here’s are our stops during the week:

  • After leaving York we stayed over night in Ogunquit, Maine on day 2
  • The next day we drove through Kennebunk Port on our way to Camden for our third night.
  • After leaving Camden we stopped at Cape Elizabeth to hike around Portland Head Light.
  • We arrived in Bar Harbor late on day 4.
  • On day 5 we explored Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor before taking a sailboat tour.
  • Day 6 had us traveling south again to spend the night and explore Portland Maine.
  • Day 7 we traveled to Portsmouth, NH for our finial night.

Another highlight of our trip was being treated to authentic New England dinner by my friend Jennifer at Cottage On Bunker Hill. Jennifer and her husband Chuck picked us up at the hotel and treated us to a fantastic dinner at The Oar House. The company, the food, and the atmosphere were just perfect.

Stay tuned for more photos and details about our New England Adventure.

Why Didn’t I Think of That?

There are so many wonderful blog posts each week, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.

There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL

Thrifting Adventures

Can you believe I stopped at multiple antique shops in New England but didn’t buy a single item? It’s not because I didn’t find great deals and items I’d love to have. However, we were flying and barely had room for a few tee shirts! Once I was back home, I stopped by one of my favorite second-hand shops and picked up a Bob Timberlake print, and these cut brass Christmas tree candle holders.

Thank you so much for stopping and following along each week. I look forward to sharing more of my New England adventures and more with you in the coming weeks.
