Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures: Pollen Season & Porches! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.
Hey friends, and thanks for stopping by. This past week was busy as we tried to work in the yard and get the outdoor areas spruced up. A neighbor asked to have their daughter’s prom pictures taken on our property, and you know we wanted to make it look as nice as possible. However, the combination of rain, wind, and pollen set us back slightly. Our new mulch didn’t arrive as planned, but we added a few flowers and tried to clean everything up.
They were such a sweet group and were all so lovely.
We are in the midst of pollen season, and we could wash the porch every few hours. I’ve decorated the porch, but I keep bringing things back inside. I feel like I’ve got pollen stuck in my teeth whenever I’m outside for a few minutes.
Thankfully, we cover our screened porch from winter through May, which keeps most of the pollen out and prevents things from getting blown around in the wind. It is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. I appreciate all your kind comments about the screen porch decorated with birdhouses. I’m so glad you liked it.

There are so many wonderful blog posts each week, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.
There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL
- I love outdoor dining areas and KariAnnes Pea Gravel Outdoor Patio Space is just darling.
- My gardening friend Kim shared these 10 Low Maintenance Flowers, which is exactly what I need.
- I love a garden-themed table, and Debra’s Spring Coffee Table With Metal Baskets is adorable.
- As we were working outside this week, I noticed that my rose bush looked a little unhealthy. Naturally, I checked out Stacy’s Rose Fertilizer 101 tips.
What’s In My Cart
It’s been a slow shopping week, but I have a few things to share. First, I returned these Floral Stamps because they were a lot smaller than I expected. If you are working on a small project, they are of good quality. But I did find some that I hope will be the size I need.
- Wooden Block Stamps
- I couldn’t resist these pink and white napkins.
I also have been thinking about Mother’s Day and found some great gardening books that I’m sure anyone would like to receive. Click the image below to see details.
- I received these faux boxwood topiaries and love them. I used them on the porch in my DIY planters, and they are perfect with Anthropologie Knock-off Wreaths.
