Happy Memorial Day Weekend, and Welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! It’s time to look back at everything happening here on the blog, some behind-the-scenes patriotic thrifting and beach adventures, plus inspiration from around the web.
We are having a rainy holiday weekend at the beach. Fortunately, we arrived earlier in the week, and the weather was much nicer than it is today.
I worked really hard last weekend to have projects and decorating ideas to share with you during the week. This allowed us a few extra days to enjoy our beach cottage.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road
This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.
We’ve been at the beach most of the week, and I thought I’d share some of our adventures with you today.
The week began with lots of wind, so traveling to Wilmington for lunch was more enjoyable than braving a sandblast on the beach.
The first day I took Brad to The Kitchen Sink. I had previously been with a friend and knew he would love the atmosphere and the food.
The next day we had lunch at a favorite restaurant, Indochine. Afterward, we ventured across the highway to Flea Bodys to check out all the vintage booths.

Patriotic Thrifting
Since it is Memorial Day weekend, I thought it would be to do a little patriotic thrifting.
I love this time of year because you can put out the patriotic decor this weekend and leave it thru the 4th of July.
Several of the booths were celebrating this Memorial weekend with patriotic touches.
I especially liked the vintage flags and the picnic plates with ants. They would be so fun for a 4th of July picnic.
We also enjoyed a few meals with friends and had a great Memorial Day celebration with all our neighbors. The event was pulled inside due to rain and wind. However, we still enjoyed sharing good food and making lasting memories.
Here the ladies are enjoying a beverage at Soul Flavor in Carolina Beach. They guys are camera shy across the bar from us.
