Hey friends, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures. I’ve been a basket case this week.
Well, not literally, but I’ve been obsessed with baskets this past week.
I did a whole post on decorating with baskets for our Thrifting with the Gals series.
That same day, I visited the French Farmer’s Wife Barn Sale and found this great harvest basket.
I have wanted one for years, and they have one that I’ve dreamed about, but it was too large for my house.
So when I saw this smaller one, I knew immediately that I had to have it.
Now it’s time to take a look back at all the things happening at the end of our Dirt Road. In case you missed something on the blog, I’m sharing a recap and also lots of creative and fun things from around the web.

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.
In addition to my basket adventures, I did a little thrift store shopping with my daughter in Greensboro, NC.
I found a few items that I’m excited to use.
The card file box is a great size, and I plan to paint it a fun color.
The cute leaf plates will be great for a fall tablescape and perfect appetizer plates for fall parties.
And you know I can always find a use for great vintage books.
We also spent a lot of time in the garden this week. I’m still transplanting some of my existing plants and added a few annuals to the landscape.
I was excited to see these blooms in the yard and couldn’t resist cutting a few for an upcoming tablescape.
Do you remember Gertrude and Heathcliff, our resident geese? Well, Heathcliff stood guard while Gertrude rested on her nest.
This week the results of their labor appeared in the form of 5 baby geese. They are so cute as babies but they grow up real fast and we are ready to see them move on.
We actually ordered some of this natural goose repellant for our front yard. They are welcome on the other side of the ponds.
In Case You Missed It
First, my husband and I are obsessed with making the Stack Recipes, and I shared our Poke Tuna Stack Recipe.
Cinco de Mayo is coming up soon, and this is one of my favorite tablescapes. Hopefully, it will help you to plan your own festive party. You might also like to see how to make the table runner using real fruit.

And I know you love seeing what the Thrifting with the Gals have been up to, so be sure to see How To Decorate with Baskets.
I’ve wanted one of these over-the-table rod stands and finally got Brad to help me build one. You will not believe how easy it was, and we used recycled lumber, so it was cheap to make.

Hi Rachel! Thank you so much for sharing my Cornishware post today! I love love that new basket you got! Great find! Maddie and Cisco spent a lot of time last week chasing the geese off our lawn, haha! They are my natural goose repellant! No babies yet here, but oh my, yours are so cute! I am enjoying your beautiful spring weather vicariously -- we still have no leaves and today it is "feels like" 33. Yikes! Have a great week!

Molly, You are welcome. Rudy isn't very aggressive, and the geese aren't afraid of him. LOL. Hope you get warmer weather soon.
