Welcome to Dirt Road Adventures, and Happy Mother’s Day!
I hope you are spending time with your families today.
We are spending the day with our daughter and son-in-law as we celebrate both Mother’s Day and their birthdays.
My daughter was my Mother’s Day gift 40 years ago. Wow, that is so hard to believe.
This was my sweet Mother’s 98th birthday celebration, and she just missed her 99th by two months. We were so blessed to have her with us for so many years. However, it’s never long enough, and this is my fourth Mother’s Day missing her. So if you are lucky enough to have your mom with you today, give her a hug for me.
I’ll keep today’s post short and sweet, but we will still look back at everything on the blog and some fun things I found online.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road
This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.
The Kickstart Diet
Brad and I began the week determined to eat healthier. We started The 17-Day Kickstart Diet by Mike Moreno.
We opened the pool last week, and although it’s not warm enough to dive in, it will not be long. Therefore, a little kickstart was in order with swimsuit weather on the horizon.
We have used this book to get back on track for the past couple of years successfully.
Gardening
Since we are eating lots of veggies, we were inspired to plant a few more in the garden.
I’m trying brussels sprouts for the first time. We love them, so I’m hoping for a huge crop.
Getting the Porch Ready
I finally added new ferns to the porch and placed the geraniums I saved over winter in the porch planters.
The pollen is slowing down, and we will remove the vinyl covers from our screened porch next week.
It’s almost safe to be outside and enjoy porch sitting again. LOL
More Baby Geese
I shared that Heathcliff and Gertrude were proud parents a few Dirt Road Adventures ago.
Well, this week, I spied another gaggle of baby geese—our second hatching of the season.
They were so tiny I could hardly see them in the grass.
I hope the Goose Repellant will keep them out of our front yard. LOL

Happy Mother's Day to you, Rachel! Hope you had a nice day with your daughter and her hubby -- and, your hubby too.
Such a nice picture of you and your Mom. What a wonderful long life she had. I know you miss her because I sure miss my dear Mom who passed in 1996.
Those little geese are so darn cute!
Enjoy these nice days!
