Dirt Road Adventures: Fall Crafts, Entertaining and More

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.

Hey Friends,

I hope you have had a good week. We have been thankful for the calm weather and are still praying for our friends in western North Carolina, South Carolina & Tennessee, and beyond, who have lost so much due to Hurricane Helene! If you want to help, here is a link to legitimate organizations to which you can safely send a donation. There have already been many scams, so be careful when making a donation.

We had this visitor show up in our backyard this week. I hope he found nothing in the garden to draw him back for a snack. Although he’s pretty and posed like a model, I know he can destroy our garden if he keeps hanging around. Brad wanted to make him a pet, but I chased him away after the photo shoot. LOL

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

It’s beginning to feel like fall in the mornings and late evenings. However, our days are still hot and humid.

We took advantage of the cooler evenings and had guests over for a small dinner party on Saturday.

It was a great evening to be outdoors, and we enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the firepit. I love entertaining outdoors in the fall. Brad prepared the firepit with a stack of wood incase the weather worked in our favor.

Do you remember the foraged fall floral arrangement I made weeks ago? You will not believe how good it still looks. I used it on our appetizer outdoor table for the dinner party.

Why Didn’t I Think of That?

There are so many wonderful blog posts each week, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.

There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL

Thrift Store Finds

I found those four cornucopias for less than $4.00 this week, which I shared on yesterday’s Halloween porch update. In addition, this great framed needlepoint was only $3.87. I couldn’t believe it was so inexpensive because the frame alone is stunning. I can’t wait to share how I’m styling it.

What’s In My Cart

First, I’m so excited for my friend Kristin! I just received her first book, and I’ve read several chapters, and it’s so good. She is such an inspiration, and I know you will enjoy her insights into following God’s direction. Her book is now available to purchase, and you can find Adventure Awaits here. This would also make a great gift.

In addition, it’s time to order those Christmas decorations. I promise that many items will sell out. Here are some that I’ve ordered, and I’m pleased with them.

Thanks for stopping by this week, and I look forward to sharing my next adventure with you!
