Hey y’all, how was your first week of Fall?
It was a roller coaster ride here in North Carolina.
First, it was warm and I took off to the beach for some girlfriend time.
Then, wouldn’t you know it, the weather shifted and got cool. Therefore, sitting on the beach was not an option.
However, not to be outdone, we managed to find some great restaurants and did a little retail therapy.
Then the trip was cut short due to Hurricane Ian, and we got the heck out of there before the rain!
Ironically, our beach area had only minor damage while the storm came inland through the middle of the NC. Personally, we appear to have only minor tree damage.
There are lots of limbs to be picked up but no significant trees down on our property.
Brad isn’t happy that the pool is full of leaves as well.
However, the power went out at 8:00 pm on Friday evening; this was the outage map on Saturday morning.
The circle with the 4 inside is our house. Yikes. We are praying for all those linemen working overtime this weekend.
We are certainly praying for the folks in the storm’s path who were not as fortunate. It’s heartbreaking to see the damage in Florida.
By the way, the power was finally reestablished at 5:00 PM on Saturday. Although it wasn’t 24 hours, it felt much longer. LOL
Thanks so much for all the messages and well wishes on social media.

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.
This week we are looking back at Fall Decorating Inspiration for Fall Front Porch Decorating and a Farmhouse Home Tour for Fall. Plus, fall DIY Projects and tutorials that I shared on the blog.
In Case You Missed It
This first week of Autumn was filled with so much inspiration on the blog. I was involved in two Fall Blog Hops, and you are going to love all the tours.
First was the Front Porch Tour, and I was joined by 11 talented bloggers sharing their autumn porch decorating tips.
Then the Bloggers’ Best Fall Home Tour included 30 talented decorators opening their homes to share fall inspiration.
In addition, I shared three different DIY Projects that are all budget-friendly and super easy to make.
- How To Make A Fall Wreath with Dollar Store Burlap Leaves
- How to Build Faux Galvanized Wood Planters for your porch
- How to Add Corn Husks to a Dollar Tree Pumpkin
I look forward to sharing more fall inspiration with you this week.

So glad you were able to get in a bit of girl time in before the hurricane blew through, Rachel. I'm also glad you didn't have a lot of damage either. Even though we've been through many, many hurricanes it's always so creepy to be without power at night because you can hear the wind and the rains but you can't see what kind of damage they're causing. I'll be so happy when hurricane season is officially over. Until then, I'll be reading these fabulous links in between clearing out tree and yard debris right along side you guys. Hugs, CoCo

Love reading about all your adventures and the sweet finds and decor you and fellow crafters create! I have been trying to repurpose all the lovely junk left in my parents home place. Between cleaning out and 'saving' (see hoarding according to my adult children) it has been a trial. They want to dump or burn, I want to salvage and ne'er the twain...however I have found ways to hoard the most prized, lol. Bring a momma for over 40years had it's sneakyness (new word?). Anyhoo I have family in Florida and North Carolina (all safe as of this morning) so my prayers have been hot and heavy for everyone. So glad to hear y'all are safe and sound ♥️ Keep giving us these wonderful ideas and I promise at some point I'll sneak out the materials and make something to surprise my offspring. I'm slowly indoctrinating them to the truth of if momma ain't happy she don't make their favorite desserts!!! 😂🤣 Love your blog and ideas, keep'em coming!!

Shirley, I'm so glad you are saving some of those treasures. It's so hard trying to decide what to save and what to get rid of. Just about the time you let something go, it's the hottest thing.
