Dirt Road Adventures: A Tropical Storm, Fall Decorating and DIY Ideas

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures: A Tropical Storm, Fall Decorating, DIY ideas, an exploding paint can, and more! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes on the website and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.

Hey Friends, and Welcome!

We are so glad to see the sun shining as I write this. What a nasty week we had. It was rain, rain, and more rain as a result of the tropical storm Debby! The humidity was so high that everything was wet. Our concrete countertops in the kitchen looked like we had poured water on them. You can see how dreary everything looks.

The crepe myrtle trees were touching the ground, and I was afraid they would break. Although there is no sun, I see a blue sky, and the trees are beginning to straighten up.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

In other news, I managed to complete a few projects this week. However, you’ll not believe what happened. I have never had anything like this happen before. I was spray painting the pinecones for the fall porch swag when the green paint can malfunctioned. Suddenly, I had paint running down my arm, and instead of painting the pinecones, I was being painted green. Have you ever had to remove large quantities of spray paint from your body? It was not fun. I had to use paint thinner and still could not get the green tint from my skin and fingernails. I went around singing, “It’s not easy being green,” all week. At one point, I told my husband that I looked like I was molding. Which, with all the rain and moisture in the air, could actually be happening. LOL

How nice to see the blue sky return after so much rain. Glad that you didn't have too much damage from that storm. These storms can be so scary.

Your fall pillows are so pretty! I think I might have to order a few!

Rachel, I'm glad that your spray paint explosion did not hit your eyes. I have never known that this could happen. How horrible for you and what a job to clean everything -- including you!

Have a great week!
