Dirt Road Adventures: Girls Annual Trip, A Little Thrifting, Lots of Fun

Happy Sunday, and welcome to Dirt Road Adventures! This is where we review all the exciting events behind the scenes, on the website, and the sources of inspiration I discovered online during the past week. This weekly recap ensures you don’t miss any of our adventures.

Hey friends,

I’m keeping this weekend’s DRA short and sweet because I’m actually on our annual girlfriends’ trip. We have been gathering the weekend before Labor Day for several years. The gathering takes place at Kure Beach, and we always have the best time. There is always some shopping and dining out. However, the highlight of our trip is the Bloody Mary Brunch hosted at our friend’s house. The entire weekend is filled with laughter, reminiscing, and making new memories that we will laugh about next year.

Adventures at the End of the Dirt Road

This is a look back at all my adventures this past week.

We began the weekend with lunch at The George on the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, NC. Then we did a little shopping at a new to us spot, Bizarre, on College Road. It’s a mini vendor space with lots of different items to shop for. I found some unique deals on a few vintage pieces and I’ll share them under my Thrifting Adventures this week.

In the meantime, here are the articles from last week on the blog. In case you missed it.

Why Didn’t I Think of That?

There are so many wonderful blog posts each week, and I’m sharing some of my favorites with you today.

There are so many creative ideas, and I’m always asking myself, “Why didn’t I think of that”? LOL

Thrifting Adventures

Because I spent most of the week working to prepare for our girlfriend’s trip, I only did a little shopping after arriving in Wilmington. However, I’m loving my new finds.

The brown transferware platter is just what I’ve been looking for to complete my Fall dining room wall.

I love this unique brass candlestick holder. It will be a great addition to my holiday decorating. The patina on this crusty, tarnished silver bowl was too good to pass up. It’s a unique piece; I know I’ll be using it all around the house this fall and winter.
