Wait until you see this Creative Book Club Brunch Table Setting Idea. I’ve combined my love for vintage books, DIY projects, and thrift store finds to create a unique and interesting tablescape perfect for any Book Club Party.
When I saw that this month’s Supper Club theme was Book Club Brunch, I immediately began pulling out old coffee table books and my favorite small vintage books.
I created a book-themed centerpiece using vintage books, old milk glass vases with moss stems, and accessories.
Each place setting is designed with unique books and vintage paper roses.

Supper Club
Today’s Book Club Brunch Theme is part of our Supper Club Monthly Series.
If you are joining us for the first time, we are a group of friends who love to entertain, and when entertaining in person wasn’t recommended, we started a virtual supper club in January 2021.
Each month we have one guest blogger joining us, and I’m so excited to have our friend, Nicole from Our Tiny Nest, join us this month.
If you are joining me from Anne & AnnMarie at Simply 2 Moms, Welcome! I know you love every detail of their table.

What Can You Use For a Book Club Themed Table?
Well, as you know, my first thought is old books. Since I collect books, this was an easy way to plan my table.
In addition, speaking of old books, I have several that have seen better days.
Making a vintage page table runner using the pages was one idea.
Then I thought about making vintage paper roses as place cards. The paper roses could be made from damaged books also.
Other Ideas for a Book Club table
- Set the table based on a Book Club’s recent read. – Use items related to the actual book or time period.
- Use book question cards at the place settings for book discussion.
- Have the menu reflect the time period of a recent book club read.
- Have each guest bring their favorite book.
- Do a book club book exchange party.
- Or set each place setting based on each person’s favorite book.
- Also, have each place setting reflect a book and see who can guess what the book is.
Just get creative and have fun setting a book-themed table.
Brunch Table Setting
I’m loving all these ideas for a Book Club Brunch Table. However, this month’s table is more generic.
The brunch table setting begins with old coffee table books used as placemats for each place setting.
I have several older books I no longer display and decided they would make great placemats for a Book Club Brunch.
A folded napkin separates the book from the white plate charger and dinner plate to help protect the book pages.
I decided to use a set of Vintage silverware that I was lucky to find at Habitat for Humanity Restore. The set was almost 100% complete and was only ten cents a piece.
In addition, the coffee table book size allows the silverware to be placed on the open book pages.
However, if you use a regular-size book, you may need more space for the plates and silverware.
In keeping with the book theme, I added vintage English bowls and filled them with DIY Paper Roses made from old book pages.
The Casafina neutral dinnerware works perfectly with the natural theme.

Book Page Paper Roses
I recently shared how to make paper roses that can be used for so many great projects.
The paper flowers are constructed using vintage book pages from a book that was falling apart.
The roses are slightly oversized and can serve as a place card with the guests’ names added to the leaves.
I added a name to one of the leaf petals as an example.
Since I have the idea to gift the roses to each guest, I plan to leave the remaining flowers unadorned.
In addition to the paper roses, notice a few scattered flower-shaped book pages on the table.
You can use a pattern or just cut the shapes free hand for a whimsical design.
Book Club Brunch Centerpiece
The Book Club Brunch Centerpiece comprises an antique-footed breadboard filled with old books.
In addition, two similar milk glass vases hold moss-covered decor along with our antique brass salt and pepper birds.
The moss stems fill the tall milk glass vase, and the long unruly branches are woven amongst the vintage brass candlesticks. A large moss-covered ball fills the shorter vase.
In the end, instead of making a vintage book page table runner, here’s what I did.
I decided to add a few flower-shaped pages randomly on the table.
Adding them to a white linen table runner; the book pages anchor the eclectic centerpiece items.
In addition, the table includes forever-burning taper and pillar candles scattered along the table center.
How to Add Warmth and Texture
When the tablescape comprises neutral tableware, you need to add warmth and texture to keep the table interesting.
Begin with a combination of brass and copper metals. The candlesticks are all vintage brass, and the small copper bowl is filled with moss decor.
In addition, the blue book covers add warmth to the otherwise neutral tablescape.

More vintage pieces surround the table to add texture.
First is an antique column topped with an old ironstone tureen filled with paperwhites.
In addition, the Faith painting and a chippy church pew create a perfect backdrop behind the table.
The subtle moss greenery stems add a whimsical touch to the table as it weaves in and out around the vintage tableware.
I hope you enjoyed today’s Book Club Brunch Themed whimsical table.
Creating a themed table is a fun way to entertain. The table itself becomes part of the entertainment.
