How Do You Smoke Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Brownies?
There are options for smoking brownies. If you are like my husband, you will have a smoker you can easily slide the brownies into for cooking.
However, if you don’t have a smoker, you can use a regular grill with a smoker tube. The grill provides the heat, and the smoker tube provides the smokey flavor for your delicious salted caramel dark chocolate brownies.
Another option is to use liquid smoke and bake your brownies in the oven. You prepare the brownies according to directions and add a liquid smoke to the recipe. Be sure to follow label instructions when adding liquid smoke. A little goes a long way to enhance the flavor of your food.
Ingredients for Smoked Brownies
The Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Brownie recipe is easy to make, starting with a basic dark chocolate brownie mix. Begin by following the package directions and create a brownie batter.
Next, gather your additional ingredients for salted caramel dark chocolate brownies.
- Caramel Sauce
- Smoked Bacon Sea Salt
- Candied Bacon Crumbled- See recipe for easy Candied Bacon
Prepare For Smoker
If you use a smoker, grill, or oven, preheat to 350 degrees.
Begin by preparing your brownie mix according to the box directions. Add half the mixture to a greased 9 x 13 or 10 x 10 baking dish. Drizzle the top of the mixture with caramel sauce and then sprinkle with the smoked bacon sea salt.
Then, pour the remaining brownie batter over the top.
Repeat the layers of caramel and sea salt over the top of the batter.
Place the baking dish in the pre-heated smoker, grill, or oven. Cook for 25 minutes.
Add Topping For Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Brownies
Remove the salted caramel dark chocolate brownies from the smoker and repeat, adding the caramel and sea salt to the top.
Finally, spring the top with crumbled candied bacon.
Return the baking dish to the smoker and cook for an additional 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in the middle.
Insider Tip For Making Smoked Salted Caramel Chocolate Brownies
Smoker Method: Be aware that cook times may vary from smoker to smoker. Monitor the progress closely to prevent overcooking.
Grill Method: Be sure to place the baking dish at the side of the direct heat if you use a grill. Place the smoker tube on the top rack. Turn the dish occasionally to cook evenly. Watch the brownies closely to prevent burning.
Liquid Smoke Method: If you choose to use the oven but still want the smokey flavor, you can add liquid smoke. However, use caution; a little goes a long way with a sweet dish like these brownies.
Allow Brownies To Cool
Before cutting the brownies from the pan, allow them to completely cool. Use a knife with a small amount of cooking spray to cut them smoothly. They are very gooey and hard to cut without damaging the shape.
You can garnish with a piece of candied bacon, or serve with whipped cream, or ice cream.
A yummy dessert for any gathering. The salted caramel chocolate brownies recipes will quickly be a favorite.
