Best Ideas For A Spring Fling Dinner Party
Looking for some ideas to celebrate the beginning of Spring? How about a Spring Fling Dinner Party? It sounds like fun, but what is a Spring Fling? I’m sharing some decorating and entertaining ideas to help you get started planning ideas for Spring Fling events.
What is a Spring Fling?
Although taken separately, the words could have a romantic meaning, such as a brief romantic relationship between two people. Or puppy love, a short youthful romance.
However, the Free Dictionary provides the idiom and meaning of the words grouped together.
Therefore, the idiom definition is “Any Event Held In The Spring”!
You will find many examples, such as school dances, cotillions, fundraisers, dinner parties, etc.
So we decided to hold a Spring Fling Dinner Party for our Supper Club Series this month.
Idea’s for Spring Fling Dinner Party
I’m sharing ideas for decorating a dinner table with a Spring Fling Theme.
I love to decorate for Spring, and tables are always a favorite place to start.
Once Spring arrives, I’m ready to get inside the Greenhouse / She Shed and decorate.
Therefore, I’ve decided to host my Spring Fling in the She Shed.
I’ve set up the DIY Potting Table as a Salad Bar, and the work table is set for the Supper Club Dinner Party.
And you know I had to add some DIY and Thrift Store finds to complete the table decorations.

Today’s tablescape is part of our monthly Supper Club Series.
If you are joining us for the first time, we are a group of friends who love to entertain, and when entertaining in person wasn’t recommended, we started a virtual supper club in January 2021.
We are from different areas of the country, and it’s always fun to see each person’s interpretation of the monthly theme. Meet the Supper Club Hosts.
- Michele, Vintage Home Designs from Texas
- Jennifer, Midwest Life & Style from Nebraska
- Anne & AnnMarie, Simply 2 Mom’s from North Carolina
- I’m also from North Carolina.
We are excited to have the talented Missy from Sonata Home Design as our guest host this month.
This month’s guest host is Jennifer at Cottage on Bunker Hill for New Hampshire. I can’t wait for you to see her Spring Fling ideas.
Ideas for Spring Fling Table Setting
I wanted my Spring Fling table to reflect everything that reminds me of Spring.
This includes flowers, birds building their nests, and soft pastel colors, reflecting a vintage garden feel.
Building a Birds Nest Place Setting
One of my favorite ideas for this Spring Fling table is a bird’s nest place setting.

Each place setting began with a vintage blue dessert glass.
Each one is then filled with a greenery candle ring, a bird nest, and a white porcelain bird.

The place setting includes an open weave round placemat allowing the tablecloth leaf pattern to be visible.
The placemat is layered with a white plate charger and blue and white vintage dishes and then topped with cabbage plates—a perfect bird’s nest base.

DIY Table Linens
I recently shared a DIY Table cloth and napkins tutorial. The green leaf design on the tablecloth adds to the garden feel of the table.
The Spring floral painted napkins are soft yellow and white and mix well with gold and acrylic cutlery.

The green leaf tablecloth, greenery, and pink flowers continue the Spring Fling Garden theme.

Ideas for Spring Fling Centerpiece
The idea for Spring Fling Centerpiece consists of two small concrete urns filled with flowers.
I chose a mixture of natural greenery and faux peonies in soft pink for the centerpiece.

In addition, a vintage sap bucket is filled with lilac blooms at the end of the table.

In the background, you can also see a fun basket filled with tulips on the Spring Fling Salad Bar table.
In addition, above the salad bar table, a collection of handcrafted baskets hang from a DIY Ladder.

Vintage Garden in the She Shed
To bring a vintage garden feel to the she shed table, I added antique flower frogs as place card holders.
They hold bright pink handprinted card stock.

On the other end of the table, my treasured brass bird salt and pepper shakers stand ready next to the cabbage salad bowls.

Ideas Spring Fling She Shed Decorating
In addition to the garden table, I decorated the she shed with more garden-themed decor and ideas for Spring Fling parties. This included the DIY apothecary cabinet, which holds vintage clay pots filled with greenery.

The desk has a collection of clay pots and potted flowers for more greenhouse fun.
Although my garden isn’t in bloom yet, the thrifted wall ironstone planter didn’t mind being filled with faux hydrangea blooms.

The potting table is the perfect spot for a salad bar, and a couple of DIY birdhouses, greenery, and more vintage dishes serve as table decorations.
You can see more about the Spring Fling Salad Bar, full menu, and recipes on Saturday.
