Here are my 5 Easy Bedroom Ideas that make the primary bedroom feel fresh for Spring without breaking the bank. I’ll share how you can easily update your bedroom with these simple tips.
Y’all, I’ve wanted to update the primary bedroom since last Spring. I also wanted to do something easy and affordable. I hope you like the results.

Easy Bedroom Ideas Begin with New Spring Linens
First, the main focus of a bedroom is always the linens, and it is an easy update.
Our master bedroom linens had not been updated since we built the farmhouse, so that was first on my list of priorities. I had originally planned to make a new duvet cover and had actually chosen fabrics. However, I quickly realized that there were so many great options that were reasonably priced. This saved me a lot of time and energy.
Y’all know I love vintage linens, and this gorgeous bedding from Piper Classics has the vintage feel that I love. The neutral color of the Olivia quilt, with the ruffle trim, works with so many accent colors and will allow me to change the room colors easily.
I also chose the Doylestown Euro Pillow Shams to add a touch of blue to the bedding. The faded blue florals once again have a vintage linen feel.
In addition to the Euro Shams, I chose the Olivia King Size Pillow Shams, Ruffled Pillow Cases, and Ruffled Accent Pillow to give the bed a cozy feel.
Accent Colors for Bedroom Ideas
Next, when working with neutral colors, you can decide on any accent color that you choose. Once you have a color pallet in mind, begin to look for accent pieces to pull it together. This will allow the eye to travel around the room to find the pops of color.
I gathered my vintage and thrift store blue pitchers, vases and old books because of the blue pillow shams. The shelf above the headboard is actually an old mantel with the legs removed, and we flipped it upside down.
In addition, I added a row of vintage blue plates and platters just above the headboard.
Last week, I was trying to find blue decorative plates to hang alongside my antique Flow Blue Platter. I’ve had the platter for over 30 years and couldn’t wait to display it again.
Spring Bedroom Transformations
Another way to save money and update your bedroom is to find thrifted side tables and transform them into your dream decor.
Earlier this year, I found this great chest at a flea market and quickly transformed it to use beside the bed. See the easy 3-step process here.
In addition, I transformed a $7.00 thrift store lamp into an Earthenware Anthropology hack.
With the success of the above chest, I was inspired to update another bedside chest. You can see all the before and afters – just click here for the transformation.
How To Make the Bedroom Cozy
I love to keep the bedroom cozy with a soft rug and throw blankets. If the lightweight quilt isn’t enough cover, the throw blankets are close at hand.

Other Bedroom Ideas
The blue shutter adds another pop of blue and a perfect backdrop for the thrifted needlepoint birds. The wreath and birds add another pop of spring color.
Adding greenery and dried or fresh flowers is another way to make the bedroom feel fresh for spring.
Mirrors, art, greenery, and light-colored accessories all help to lighten the room. This allows all areas of the bedroom to feel fresh for Spring.
The bedroom furniture is a mix of woods and whites, which is my favorite decorating style. The walls are Balboa Mist by Benjamin Moore and are a perfect neutral color that allows for any color combination within the room.
When you use a basically neutral color pallet, you can quickly and inexpensively update your spaces seasonally.
New Bedding by Piper Classics adds just the right Neutral Vintage Touch – Olivia Ruffled Quilt.
I recently added a DIY Napkin Decoupage Lamp that compliments the bedroom’s blue and white accent colors. The lamp was only $1.00 at a thrift store, and with a new lamp shade, the project only cost $26.00.
