Farmhouse Christmas Tour

Welcome to my 2024 Farmhouse Christmas Tour. Today’s tour is part of the Blogger’s Best Holiday Home Tour. You will have the opportunity to link to all the other tours at the bottom of today’s tour. Be sure to check back each day for more inspiration.

If you are new to my blog, welcome! I love sharing my passion for creative, budget-friendly, and curated vintage decorating style. I share sustainable DIY and craft projects, thrifting, and entertaining ideas with you on a weekly basis.  If you like budget-friendly decorating ideas that look high-end, you’ll want to follow along on all of my adventures.

We built our farmhouse in 2016, and although it was a new build, we added as many vintage elements as we could afford. I’ve decorated the farmhouse with a mix of vintage and DIY elements for a nostalgic Christmas feeling. The main living area is filled with neutral greens, gold, and cream colors, while the dining area has a retro multi-colored vibe for an eclectic holiday feel. There are too many craft and DIY projects to count. However, just click on any of the highlighted projects and it will take you to the tutorials.

Farmhouse Entry and Christmas Tree

We will begin today’s tour at the farmhouse entry, which is just to the left of our front doors. This area features an upcycled dresser as the entry table. It is filled with vintage, thrift store finds, and DIY upcycled projects

I’ve been collecting vintage, snowy winter prints and paintings during my thrift store adventures. I decided to make a gallery of them over the shelf in the entryway. In addition to the winter prints, I have added an upcycled thrift store angel that I transformed with birch barkDIY hobnail Christmas ornaments, and the vintage milk glass lamp with an updated napkin decoupage lampshade.

Our Christmas tree is displayed inside a vintage galvanized grape hod and is filled with DIY ornaments and a DIY metal bow tree topper. I recently shared a tutorial for making vintage-inspired ornaments using a hot glue gun.

Stay tuned for more details about this year’s tree ornaments.

Living Room 2024 Christmas Tour

Next, let’s move into the living area. The first thing you will notice is the wrought iron staircase banister. This year, I draped the railing with faux cedar garland and DIY oversized Christmas ornaments. The neutral-colored sofa is styled with furry DIY Christmas Tree Pillows and cream colored multiple tree pillow covers, and cozy throw blankets

One of my favorite Christmas decorations is this Santa riding a sheep. He gets special attention under a large glass cloche.

Coffee Table DIY Centerpiece

I recently shared this easy Pinecone Christmas Tree centerpiece craft. I had planned to use it on my screen porch table but couldn’t seem to move it from the living room coffee table. It’s perfect for a table located in the center of the room. I added some candlestick holders, a stack of books, a few gold birds, and these adorable white and gold holly leaves decorative dishes.

I started upcycling thrift store finds early this year, and one of my first transformations was this napkin decoupage green and gold tray update. The tray helps to decorate a small table with a vignette of flicker candles and snowmen for the holidays.

Shabby Chic DIY Fireplace Mantel

I’m still amazed that adding a faux fireplace and mantel to our living room took us seven years. It has been one of the most impactful DIY projects we’ve done. I have loved decorating it seasonally since last year.

I was inspired to create these Christmas bells using Dollar Tree bells and old book paper. I tied the bells to the Norfolk pine garland for a retro, vintage style.

I had seen some beautiful gold glass pillar candle holders at a high-end boutique, so I made some with Dollar Tree vases. The gold and glass candle holders and vases are made with my latest crush, Gold Rub N Buff. I added them to one end of the mantel with greenery and a pair of brass deers from a thrift store.

The other end is filled with last year’s Upcycled Christmas Village, which was also designed with old book pages and twig roofs.

Office Space

One corner of our living room is my workspace. I have a vintage desk table and fill it with retro office decor, including a vintage typewriter and a rotary telephone. A thrift store basket is filled with three small trees at the corner of my desk.

Next, let’s move into the kitchen to continue the Christmas Tour.

2024 Kitchen Holiday Tour

As it is open to the living area, you will immediately see the farmhouse-style kitchen island when you walk into our home. We built the island using two old sideboards and a faux-aged wooden top.

This year’s centerpiece is a vintage French cheese board filled with a copper bowl and a Christmas tree. I also added the DIY napkin decoupage candlestick holders I shared earlier this season. The board is surrounded by fresh greenery, dried oranges, and pears.

I continued the vintage wood theme above the kitchen cabinets with a French dough bowl filled with dried hydrangeas and vintage shiny brite ornaments.

Another favorite easy project is the DIY Copper Pot Hanger. Being able to display all my vintage copper pots adds so much warmth to the kitchen. This year, I added a faux greenery garland above the window and hung some of my vintage brass ornaments and DIY old book page ornaments.

Next to the window is a set of open shelves for displaying more holiday decor. The top shelf holds a small Christmas tree that fills a vintage crock, a DIY Jingle Bell sign, and festive bottle brush trees.

The lower shelf has a vintage silver tray as a backdrop for a fresh greenery-filled ironstone vase and these darling little DIY reindeer.

Dining Area Farmhouse Christmas Decorations

The dining area is next to the kitchen. Here, antiques and vintage finds are mixed with very retro farmhouse Christmas decoration choices. The cupboard is filled with vintage ironstone, while the DIY wall plate rack is overflowing with old cutting boards, breadboards, and platters. Vintage crocks with snowy trees and a bowl of shiny brite ornaments complete this corner of the farmhouse decorations.

The retro feeling continues to the dining table, where you’ll see more vintage glass ornaments in every color of the rainbow.

I added many silver pieces and mixed them with rustic baskets for added texture. I will share more details about the retro-inspired holiday dinner table later this week, so stay tuned.

Thank you so much for joining me on this year’s Farmhouse Christmas Tour. I hope you enjoyed it. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season.
