Although many people consider Fried Green Tomatoes a Simple Southern Dish, I think everyone will agree that this recipe is simply delicious.
Here is a healthy recipe to make Air Fried Green Tomatoes with a yummy remoulade sauce. I like this version better than the traditional pan-fried recipe, and it’s much healthier.
This recipe is classified as an appetizer. However, these yummy tomatoes are delicious as a side dish as well.

Remoulade Sauce
You can make the sauce before starting this dish or while the tomatoes are cooking. The sauce is tangy and delicious and therefore helps enhance the fried tomatoes’ flavor.
Prepare the Green Tomatoes
You want to begin by washing the tomatoes because you do not want to peel the tomatoes.
Mix the bread crumbs with the salt and pepper to taste.
Slice & Coat the Tomatoes
Next, slice your tomatoes into approx. 1/8-1/4 inch thick slices. Then, whisk your egg and dredge the tomato slices in the egg. Finally, coat thoroughly with the bread crumb mixture.
Prepare Air Fryer Cooking Trays
Be sure to coat the air fryer trays with cooking spray to prevent the tomatoes from sticking. You can add a small amount of spray to the coated tomatoes to increase browning.
You will want to cook the Fried Green Tomatoes in an Air Fryer at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on each side. Therefore, a larger air fryer’s total cook time is 10 minutes.
However, if you have a small air fryer, you may be unable to cook this entire recipe at once. If this is the case, you will double your cooking time.

Yummy
Serve your Fried Green Tomatoes with Remoulade Sauce immediately. I’ve added a couple of sausage patties to complete the meal.
If you don’t like Remoulade sauce, try adding goat cheese and spicy jelly or jam. This will enhance the flavor of the Fried Green Tomatoes.
