Supper Club
Today’s tablescape is part of our monthly Supper Club Series.
If you are joining us for the first time, we are a group of friends who love to entertain, and when entertaining in person wasn’t recommended, we started a virtual supper club in January 2021.
We are from different areas of the country, and it’s always fun to see each person’s interpretation of the monthly theme. Meet the Supper Club Hosts.
- Stacy Ling, Bricks N Blooms from New Jersey
- Michele, Vintage Home Designs from Texas
- Jennifer, Midwest Life & Style from Nebraska
- Anne & AnnMarie, Simply 2 Mom’s from North Carolina
- I’m also from North Carolina.
We are excited to have Kristin from White Arrows Home with us today. Kristin lives in a log cabin in the Northwoods of Minnesota, so I know you will love her inspired ideas today.
Cabin Christmas Budget Table Ideas
Today’s table setting combines foraged natural elements with collected and thrifted dinnerware.
I used a mix-matched place setting of Christmas dinnerware that I’ve collected over the years. I have a weakness for dinner plates; these handpainted reindeer salad plates were too fun to resist.
They are a whimsical addition to the rustic table setting with a deer Christmas theme.
In addition, the Royal Staffordshire dinner plates were a HomeGoods find from several years ago. The copper charger plates were found while antiquing over the summer. They are originally from Pottery Barn and are very heavy. They are one of my favorite finds.
Next to the dinner plate are red linen napkins with cute Christmas berry napkin rings. The napkin rings hold a rustic pewter cutlery fork.
Thrifted tarnished brass candlesticks and thrifted wine glasses look right at home with the new martini glasses. They were a welcome surprise Christmas gift from my hubby last year.
Shopping thrift stores allow you to splurge on something great every once in a while. The martini glasses were a splurge gift for sure. LOL
Insider Tip – Budget Tableware
One of the best bargains is thrift store tableware. You can find dishes, wine glasses, cutlery, and more for a fraction of the original price.
The best bargains will be incomplete sets. Don’t let that discourage you.
I love to mix and match, and I’ve actually gotten lucky a few times and found additional pieces of the original pattern.
In addition, if you are a tableware hoarder like myself. Look through your own supply before purchasing new. All the dishes, wine glasses, and cutlery used on today’s table have been in my cabinets for years.
Cozy Rustic Cabin Christmas Deer Antler Centerpiece
I have been inspired to decorate the farmhouse with deer and reindeer this year. I have gradually added several projects, such as these cute reindeer I upgraded from Dollar Tree.
That said, I wanted to create a rustic Christmas Deer Antler centerpiece.
The container is a larger pewter vessel with deer busts on each side.
I created a loose arrangement of pine stems, magnolia leaves, pinecones, and faux red berries.
I added a few plastic grocery store bags to the bottom to raise the natural elements.
In addition, faux antlers were tucked into the greenery to complete the arrangement. After finding a real deer antler skull at a thrift store, I knew they would be perfect for a rustic cabin Christmas dinner party.
An antique cheese board is a riser for the natural element centerpiece and adds to the rustic cabin vibe. The deer head salt and pepper shakers are the only new purchase outside the martini glasses, which were a gift.
Deer Antler Wreath
The rustic cabin centerpiece is enhanced by the DIY Deer Antler Christmas Wreath. If you missed it, I previously shared How To Make A Christmas Wreath with Deer Antlers, Magnolia, and Pinecones.
It’s an easy and practically free project and adds to the table’s rustic ambiance.
In addition to the deer antler wreath, a vintage crock holds a small Christmas Tree as part of the farmhouse tables surrounding decorations.
Our supper club series will share a full menu and recipes on Saturday to compliment your rustic cabin Christmas dinner party.
You may have seen this easy martini recipe earlier this week. It’s a Cranberry Pear Christmas Martini, and it’s yummy.
