DIY Table Stand Tutorial

It was an easy project and we used almost 100% recycled materials for a budget friendly project.

Begin with scrap lumber and cut to size. Determine How Tall you want your rod. You will build two rod stands for each end of your table..

We cut the two bases at 14 inches and the two stands at 45 inches.

Draw your design onto the top of the wood.

Cut the design with jigsaw.

Sand edges with disk/belt sander until smooth.

Drill hole for dowel rod with a cordless drill and a large drill bit.

Attach the stands to the base with large L brackets and wood screws.

For added security, add small L brackets to each side of the stand with wood screws..

Here is what an unfinished rod stand looks like. You will have two of these.

Paint or stain your over-the-table rod stand.

You need heavy-duty clamps to attach the decorative stand to your table.

Clamp the rod stand to the edge of your table. One at each end. Add the dowel rod to the drilled holes.

Now you can have fun adding garlands of greenery or flower, string lights, and more to your decorative stand.
