What Are The Trends For Christmas Decorating This Year?
One of the biggest trends for Christmas 2022 Decorating is Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Decorating.
Therefore, you are on trend when decor consists of handmade items instead of commercially manufactured decorations.
Using natural materials, repurposing existing ornaments, shopping thrift stores to recycle old decorations, and using foraged greenery, pinecones, etc., are all trends for 2022.
You can read more about 2022 trends on 19 Sustainable Crafts Ideas and Trends for 2022.
What Christmas Decorations Can You Make?
There are so many creative options to make your own Christmas Decorations. Some of my favorites are ornaments and gift package toppers.
In addition, garlands and topiaries are a favorite DIY Decoration choice.
Another fun option is to hack a high-end decoration from places like Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, and Anthropology.
If I see a Christmas decoration that inspires me, I photograph it and then try to duplicate it. I don’t always have 100% success. However, I have really saved money by creating my own DIY Decorations over the years.
I encourage you to try your hand at making some of your decorations this year.

I love re using things I have in a new and different way. Thank you for the beautiful ideas. Am starting some garlands today. I like copying old photo's and gluing to card stock for a garland with torn fabric strips between them. It's fun and easy. Christmas is such an inspiring time. Have a beautiful day!
