I have collected vintage copper pots and pans for several years and needed a pot rack hanger to display the collection.

Finally, I realized where I could add the hanger and decided that copper pipe would work great.

This is one of the easiest DIY projects and is also budget-friendly.

Where Can You Install A Pot Rack Hanger?

Depending on your space, there are several options.

One area is to add the pot rack hanger to an open wall area or over your cooktop.

Since you are using a copper pipe to make the pot hanger, the size can vary depending on your space.

Due to our limited wall space, I decided to add the hanger over our kitchen window. There is ample space for the copper pots to hang above the sink.

I removed the farmhouse sign hanging on the brick wall to prepare the area.

How To Build A Pot Rack Hanger for Copper Pots

First, determine the length of copper pipe needed for your pot rack hanger. Mine is five feet long.

You will need three to four heavy-duty pad eyes, depending on the length of your hanger.

Supplies

• Copper Pipe 1/2 inch cut to length
• Copper Cap
• Three inch Heavy Duty Pad Eye Hooks
• Brass S Hooks

The supply cost was only $40.00, which included the brass S optional hooks.

You can use decorative finials to dress up the copper pipe; however, since the installation is close to the ceiling, I opted to use simple copper caps for this project.

How To Attach Pad Eye Brackets to Ceiling

The first step to installing the pot rack hanger is to attach the pad eyes to the ceiling. For this project, we installed three eyes.

Tools Needed

• Cordless Drill
• Small Drill Bit
• Phillips Head Drill Bit
• Ladder

Note: I didn’t want to drill holes in the brick wall, so attaching it to the ceiling was our best option.

Begin by using a cordless drill to drill pilot holes into the ceiling, being sure to hit studs. This was easy since the wood ceiling was installed with exposed nails.

However, if you are working with sheetrock, using a stud finder will help to locate the best placement of the pad eyes.

Next, attach the pad eyes with the included screws using a cordless drill.

Once the pad eyes are installed, slide the copper pipe into the eyes. It’s that simple.

Hang Your Copper Pots and Accessories

Now for the fun part, you are ready to add your copper collection to the hanging pot rack.

Use the brass S hooks to hang your collection and arrange it as you prefer.

I love how the vintage copper looks against the brick wall.

The neutral kitchen is filled with warm tones for fall, and you can see the entire budget-friendly fall tour, which was photographed before the copper pot rack was installed.

Although I’ve displayed the vintage copper pots around the kitchen, having them all together makes more of a statement.
