This Fall Wreath is made with burlap leaves and is super easy to make. It’s a great indoor Dollar Tree Leaf project that’s very inexpensive.
I wanted a wreath to use over the bed in our guest room, and when I saw these leaves at Dollar Tree, I knew they would be perfect.
I had an old grapevine wreath from which I had removed the previous decoration, so all I needed was the leaves.

What Supplies Do You Need for Leaf Wreath?
You are going to love how easy and inexpensive this project is. There are only a few supplies and your are ready to begin the project.
- Eight packages of Dollar Tree Burlap Leaves in various colors and shapes if available.
- 12 Inch grapevine wreath. I used a recycled one from a previous project. It doesn’t need to be in great shape because it will be covered entirely.
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue
- Spray Paint (optional)
Note: I had to visit two Dollar Tree Stores to find the variety of colors I wanted.
Spray Paint (optional)
The burlap leaves come in various colors, and most are good colors. However, the bright orange wasn’t going to work with my decor. Therefore, I used white spray paint to tone down the orange.
If you want to change the color completely, you may need to apply 2 -3 coats of paint.
How To Assemble The Leaf Fall Wreath
The burlap leaves from Dollar Tree come with a metal stem attached. Therefore, the make the fall wreath, add a small amount of hot glue to the stem before pushing the stem into the grapevine wreath.
Place the stem of each leaf between the pieces of grapevine to ensure you have a firm attachment.
Assemble Wreath
As you start to add the leaves, angle them along the shape of the grapevine, alternating the colors as you go.
Fan the leaves out so that the grapevine wreath is completely hidden.
Apply all the leaves in the same direction as you circle the grapevine wreath.
If you see any gaps, adding a leaf by lifting the leaves forward and tucking another one in between is easy.
What Problems Did I Encounter?
I encountered only one issue besides the need to visit two stores for my supplies, and one of the colors wasn’t to my liking.
The wire stems were easily detached from the burlap leaves. However, here is the solution.
If the wire stem is detached, running the wire into the burlap leaf to reattach the stem was an easy fix.
Weave the wire in and out of the burlap like you are sewing a stitch. The wire will show on the front side of the leaf but is easily hidden by overlapping the leaves while you are attaching it.
Burlap Leaves Fall Wreath
The wreath looks perfect above the guest bed. The video tutorial is available here.
I wanted the wreath to coordinate with the vintage quilt added to the bed for fall. With the addition of the scrape fabric pumpkin pillow cover, the room is ready for guests to arrive.
Be sure to see the bedroom included in my Fall Home Tour on Wednesday.
I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY project. You may also enjoy seeing how I made a table runner with the leftover burlap leaves.
