Dirt Road Adventures – The Beach Cottage

Happy Sunday Friends! I’ve been sharing about our tiny, 1940’s beach cottage renovations and last week we spent the week wrapping up some of the projects we are working on. It’s not 100% finished but getting close.

Spring arrived early in NC and we were able to enjoy almost summer like weather while visiting our coastal home.

As we were leaving, the reality of early March returned with cooler temps. It was nice while it lasted.

This week was also filled with so much sadness and it was a time of reflection and many prayers.

I re-read one of my original posts about our journey to living a simple life and decided to share it today on Dirt Road Adventure.

It was perfect for a week of vintage and thrift store shopping.

We were able to do some decorating and finally found the perfect coffee table.

Well, it’s not a coffee table but rather a Vintage French Champagne Crate that we transformed into a coffee table.

We spotted it at The Ivey Cottage Consignment Shop in Wilmington, NC.

It had been there long enough to drop to the lowest price and then another 15% off that.

I’m still doing my happy dance over here.

It was such a great find so next, we visited Legacy Salvage to find some reclaimed wood for the top of the crate.

It turned out great and provides us much needed storage in the 460 sq. ft. cottage.

In addition, we added an accent wall to the living room and although it’s not 100% finished, here’s a sneak peek.
