I love using blue and white on my tables, and I was inspired to create a blue-and-white theme when I discovered an Italian tile table runner featuring lemons.
The colors reminded me so much of our trip to Italy and really gave me so many creative ideas for DIY projects. Therefore, this might be my record for DIY projects on one table setting.

Supper Club – Italian Dinner Table
If you are joining us for the first time, we are a group of friends who love to entertain, and when entertaining in person wasn’t recommended last year, we started a virtual supper club in January 2021.
We choose a theme for our dinner tables each month, which we post on the 4th Thursday of each month.
Next, we each share a recipe to complete the meal on the 4th Saturday.
Although the theme is the same, I love seeing each person’s interpretation of it and how they make it fit their decor style.
I know you will love joining us each month for our Supper Club. In case you missed the January table, you can still see Creative Winter Tablescape Ideas.

We were fortunate to have traveled to Italy a few years ago, and it was our favorite trip ever. I loved the landscape: all the vineyards, lemon groves, olive trees, and cypress trees. Not to mention the food, the amazing architecture, the outdoor cafe, and I could go on and on.
Thinking about the cypress trees inspired the DIY Boxwood & Lemon topiaries I designed for the Italian Dining Table.
In addition, I wanted the entire room to have an Italian feel, so an existing wreath was repurposed with lemons and garland for the wall behind the table.
The beautiful table runner from Italian Summers was an Etsy find, and it inspired the blue and white table setting with lemon accents.
In addition, I found some gorgeous napkins with a tile pattern, but the price was a little hefty, so instead of ordering them, I made some tile-inspired, painted Flour Sack Napkins myself.
You can see links to all the DIY projects represented here at the end of the article.

I was on a roll with the lemons, and since it was my turn for the Dessert Recipe, I discovered many Italian recipes that call for limoncello. That’s when I found that you could make Homemade Limoncello.

Don’t worry; I’m sharing the recipe for Frozen Limoncello Tart. I promise it’s one you don’t want to miss.
Italian Dinner Table Centerpiece
Although the Boxwood and Lemon Topiaries were made for the table, I also wanted a simple centerpiece that allowed guests to talk with each other.
Therefore, the topiaries were placed at the end of the table runner. The actual centerpiece included candlesticks, a smaller boxwood topiary, and a vintage brass tray filled with moss and lemons.
A preserved boxwood wreath was placed around the pedestal of a milk glass cake stand, and then the vintage brass tray was sat on top.
Several vintage brass candlesticks rest in the tray alongside it, with the moss balls and lemons juggling for a spot.
I’m sorry, but these cute (brand new) lemon salt and pepper shakers were a steal at the thrift store. However, I did find these similar ones.
Blue and White Place Setting
Fortunately, blue and white dishes are one of my passions. Therefore, it was just a matter of pulling them out of the cabinet.
The dinner and dessert plates were previous HomeGoods finds. Although they aren’t Italian pottery, the colors work with the table runner.
The chargers are a $2.00 Hobby Lobby find and work perfectly with the Italian Dinner Party Theme.
Other Italian Dinner Party Theme Tableware
The cute lemon dish is perfect for the olive oil and looks cute alongside the thrifted tiny martini glasses. They are the ideal size for a sip of limoncello.
In addition, the water goblets, wine glasses, and cutlery are also thrift store finds that I use all the time.
Don’t you love the yellow pitcher? Yep, you guessed right, it’s another thrift store purchase from a few years back, and it’s Italian-made.
Well, I have some good news: the lemon napkin rings are new and so affordable. Aren’t they so cute?
Did you notice that even the wall sconces got a little lemon touch with a couple of leftover napkin rings?
You know that napkin rings and candle rings are interchangeable at my house!
