Top Ten DIY Projects

Y’all know that I’m constantly in some type of project mode. It’s hard to believe but in a few days I’ll have been writing The Ponds Farmhouse Blog for 2 Years!

I thought it would be fun to take a look back and share my Top Ten DIY Projects with you. These are the projects that received the most views in 2021.

Some of these were a surprise because they received more views in 2021 although they were written in 2020.

If you are new to my blog, some of these posts will be new to you. I hope you like them.

#10 DIY Project – Easy Thrifted Lamp Makeover

Last year I was obsessing over some of the earthenware lamps from Pottery Barn, but didn’t want to pay the price. When I ran across a great shaped lamp, I decided to see if I could duplicate the look. You can see how it turned out here.

#9 – DIY Vent Extender for Furniture

Y’all this may not be the most exciting DIY project of the year, but it certainly a money saver. It all began when I added new furniture beside my bed.

My husband didn’t like the fact that the vents were now covered. He said it was a safety issue and sure enough he was right.

So upon seeing the prices of the a vent extender, we decided to make our own because we needed two.

This is such an easy solution and you can see all the details here.

#8 – How to White Wash Wood Ceiling Technique

One of the most asked questions about our farmhouse is “How did we get our ceilings to look like they are reclaimed wood?”.

Here is step by step tutorial to achieve the appearance of reclaimed wood. My goal was for the farmhouse ceilings to look like distressed, reclaimed lumber.

Amazing Furniture Transformation – # 7 DIY Project

I’m slightly obsessed with tiny drawer’s and as you will see they are featured often through out my top ten DIY projects.

You have to see the before to really appreciate the difference in this $40.00 thrift store purchase.

You can see all the before, during and after’s here.

#6 – Easy DIY Faux Earthenware Vessel

Here is another example of me finding an item that I love but being unwilling to pay the price.

I saw an Earthenware Vessel that caught my eye. Instead of ordering one, I began to search for a vessel of similar proportions that could be transformed.

Here are the steps to make an Easy DIY Faux Earthenware Vessel from a thrift store find.

The Real Truth About Deconstructing a Chair– #5 DIY Project

Are you a jump right into the middle of a project kind of person? This practice has served me okay over the years. However, I seriously made a mistake when I decided to deconstruct a vintage chair.

You can see all the details and lessons I learned here.

#4 – How to Build a Diy Greenhouse

Y’all this was the most challenging project we ever attempted and I still can’t believe we did it. This post is about the journey of How To Build A DIY Greenhouse. Because we are not professional builders, this is not a step by step how too, with all the nitty gritty details. This post is meant to inspire you to not give up on a dream and hopefully encourage your step out of your comfort level to take on new projects.

How to Build a Farmhouse Kitchen Island #3 DIY Project

This was our second most challenging project because we had to build the island before we moved it into the new farmhouse. Some of the photography is terrible because this was before I started sharing our adventures with you. I hope you get the idea anyway. Here are all the details.

#2 DIY Faux Apothecary Cabinet

See what I mean about little drawers! Wait until you see what’s the number 1 DIY project! LOL!

This cabinet is in the DIY Greenhouse and was actually an easy IKEA Hack. Can you believe this is all one IKEA storage cube? Take a look here.

#1 Industrial Farmhouse Transformation

I find it ironic that this is my #1 post because the blog post title is #1 Industrial Farmhouse Transformation. LOL! I guess I had a premonition that this was going to be a big hit. This was the first piece that I transformed with faux little drawers. You can see all the details here.

I hope you enjoyed taking a look back at my top viewed projects of last year.

This has been an incredible journey and I’ve learned so much. I hope to share many more adventures with you in 2022.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
