Farmhouse Porch & Front Door Christmas Decoration Ideas

Y’all know I’m all about the front porch, and Christmas is my favorite time to decorate. So welcome to my Farmhouse Outdoor & Front Porch Christmas Decoration Ideas for this year!

I simplified the area around our front doors because so much has changed since last year.

First, we added the full door shutters beside the main entry doors.

Then, we made the galvanized inspired planters beside the front doors.

These changes added so much to the front porch and called for Christmas Decor Simplification. Y’all know that’s hard for me to do.

Let me know if you think I’ve accomplished it. LOL

Farmhouse Front Door Christmas Decorations

Because the new planters are such statement pieces, I decided to fill them with simple bare trees.

I found these great bells at Belk this year and decided they would be perfect hanging from the light fixtures.

Reuse Old Christmas Decorations

Continuing with the bell theme, I added two large bells I’ve had in my Christmas decoration stash for several years.

I add them to this red & blue enamelware antique bowl to create impact. I filled in around the bells with pine stems.

More Front Porch Door Ideas

Another idea was to keep the basics neutral, so instead of changing the basic rug from Boutique Rugs, I added a smaller holiday rug on top from Lev Tex Home.

The recycled twig-covered tin can, which I made for fall, is workings overtime and holds a mini faux Christmas tree.

More mini trees sit perfectly in the thrift store mini wagon, painted red.

Keeping everything cozy is easy, with multiple throw blankets added to all the rockers.

Metal bows I made several years ago add a pop of red to the planter arrangement.

The white chippy wooden stool holds another mini tree and candles.

A chippy red container from a thrifting adventure serves as a side table alongside the rocking chair.

Although we don’t get a lot of snow here in the south, a few snowmen are always welcome.

Farmhouse Outdoor Seating area

In addition to the main entrance, we also have french doors to the master bedroom from the porch. Here, we created an outdoor seating area full of Christmas decoration ideas.

A thrift store rustic cabinet stands beside the french doors and holds a combination of primarily thrifted clay pots, copper, baskets, and vintage ornaments.

A vintage galvanized chicken feeder serves as a tree holder and is wrapped with holiday garland.

A Front Porch Swing

A southern farmhouse wouldn’t be complete without a front porch swing.

I have had these blue cushions for several years and keep thinking I’ll change the color. However, I keep coming back to them in blue and loving the results.

The black and natural rug is back again because it works well with the front door rug and is a great backdrop for the pops of blue and red.

More vintage and thrifted treasures are filled with Christmas decor.

The vintage chip container holds a faux tree, while the thrifted hurricane candle holder is filled with foraged pinecones, berries, and a few shiny brites.

A garden cloche covers a rustic birdhouse that sits inside an old cheese box lid with feet added.

The porch swing received an update from my friend Jackie at Rod Works of Asheville.

The beautiful snowflake throw, Merry pillow, and red truck are just a few of the many Christmas decor items you can find at Jackies shop or online.

A mixture of red and blue helps to keep the outdoor seating area fun and festive for the holidays.

To enhance the swing for the holidays, I added a pine and pinecone garland with a string of lights.

This is a favorite outdoor spot to watch the Christmas lights come on around the house when the weather is good.

Exterior Lighting for Outdoor Christmas

Adding exterior lighting is a great way to highlight the farmhouse’s outdoor Christmas decorations.
