Dollar Tree Craft Ideas
When I first saw the Dollar Tree Pumpkin Metal Frames, I quickly grabbed a few because I knew I’d find a use for them.
The first thing I did was paint the frames matte white using Chalk Spray Paint. You can paint them any color you choose for your fall decor.
Once the paint is dry, you can begin decorating with your Dollar Tree Crafts DIY ideas.
You can decorate the frames in several ways to create wreaths to hang on doors, shutters, and more. Here are six simple ideas for you to try.
1. Dollar Tree Pumpkin Frame – Foraged Craft Ideas
The first Dollar Tree Craft DIY project uses a large foraged twig, gathered leaves, and some faux acorns for a touch of color.
Ensure your leaves and twigs are free of insects before bringing them into your home. There are two ways you can rid foraged materials of bugs.
- Spray them with bug repellent
- Place them in a bag and freeze them for a few hours.
After you are sure the bugs are gone, begin by using a hot glue gun to attach the foraged leaves and acorns to the large twig.
When the twig is arranged to your liking, slide the arrangement inside the Dollar Tree Pumpkin Frame. Allow some of the leaves to wrap around the wire frame.
Finally, tie jute twine into a bow around the stem.
You can hang the rustic pumpkin wreath on a shutter or door with an S hook. The foraged arrangement will be secure once the wreath is hanging against the shutter or door.
2. Pumpkin Wreath with Faux Stems
The second Dollar Tree Craft Idea uses a faux fall foliage stem bundle, small faux pumpkins, and a raffia ribbon.
For this option, begin by folding the fall bundle main stem upward into the middle of the foliage.
Slide the foliage bundle into the wire pumpkin frame and pull pieces of the foliage out between the wire.
Finally, add the raffia ribbon bow and place small pumpkins randomly within the foliage to complete the craft idea.
These pumpkins have metal clips and can be easily attached to the foliage. If your pumpkins don’t include clips, you can use hot glue to secure the pumpkins.
3. Dried Hydrangea Dollar Tree Crafts DIY
The third Dollar Tree Crafts DIY is super easy to accomplish.
All you need is dried hydrangeas and a satin ribbon.
Arrange several hydrangeas inside the wire frame and tie a bow around the stem with a satin ribbon.
I attached the pumpkin to the door with a jute twine for this arrangement. The hydrangeas will stay in place once the frame is attached to the door.
I don’t recommend using the fragile dried hydrangeas outdoors. High winds may shred the blooms from the stems.
4. Pinecone Pumpkin Wreath
Another similar design is to add gathered pinecones to the pumpkin form. The process is the same: just fill the wire form with pinecones and tie a bow around the stem.
Since the pinecones create a more rustic style, I used jute twine for a small bow.
5. Dollar Tree Craft Ideas With Dollar Tree Supplies
If you are going to make a Dollar Tree Craft Idea, why not go Dollar Tree all the way?
The fifth wreath idea has the metal frame stuffed with Velvet Pumpkins from the Dollar Tree store.
Even the rustic ribbon is crafted from a Dollar Tree garland.
Arrange the pumpkins inside the wreath form and hang to keep them in place.
6. Simple Dollar Tree Pumpkin Frame
Finally, my final Dollar Tree Pumpkin Frame is simply tying a bow on it. After spray painting the frame, I felt it was simply lovely, just as it was.
The minimalist approach works well on the bedroom entry shutter.
I know one of these ideas will have you rushing to the Dollar Tree to pick up a metal pumpkin frame or four.
Plan A Craft Party
There are so many options, and the projects are all very easy to make.
Plan a craft party with some friends or a family project. Gather several supplies from Dollar Tree or foraged items. Then, let each person design their own pumpkin wreath. I’d love to see what everyone creates.

Rachel, you are so creative! I love each of the ways you have decorated the Dollar Tree pumpkin frame. My favorite is the one you made with the velvet pumpkins inside. I also thought that the one with just a simple bow on the frame on the antique shutter was really nice, too. Thanks for sharing with us.
