Easter Centerpiece With Dough Bowls
I’ve collected several dough bowls over the years. Decorating with dough bowls offers a wonderfully versatile base for creating stunning yet simple arrangements. The wooden bowls add texture and depth to your table centerpieces. Today, I’m sharing both large and small dough bowl centerpieces so you have several options. Let’s begin with my favorite, large vintage European dough bowl.

How To Determine What To Add To Dough Bowls
I only used items I already own for these quick and easy centerpiece solutions. So the first step is to gather some of your Easter decor for the centerpiece arrangement. Don’t feel you must buy new items, you’ll be surprised at what you can pull together. Here are a few suggestions.
- Bunnies
- Birds
- Bird Nests
- Easter Eggs – (plastic, decoupaged, large or small)
- Carrots – (I used Dollar Tree carrots, but you can use the real thing)
- Greenery (real or faux)
- Flowers (real or faux)
- Moss or Spanish Moss

Insider Tip – Don’t Have A Dough Bowl
So you don’t have a dough bowl but want to create a quick and easy Easter centerpiece, what can you do? Here are some alternative vessels and decorative items you can easily use in place of dough bowls.
- Trays – woven, silver, brass, or wood
- Baskets
- Large Bowls
- Serving Platters
- Risers filled with Easter goodies
- Stacks of Books – use books as risers.
- A Placemat – place in center of table for hold Easter decorations.
- A grapevine or greenry wreath at the center of the table filled with Easter decor.
How To Style A Large Dough Bowl For Easter
Let’s begin styling the large dough bowl for Easter. Since the bowl is very deep, I added some recycled shredded paper filler. Then, I added two small eucalyptus candle rings over the paper.
Next, I added a large straw bunny to the center of one eucalyptus ring and two faux paperwhite bulbs to the center of the other. Next to the paperwhite bulbs, I placed a small faux bird’s nest with small eggs.
For the final touch, I added a few Dollar Tree faux carrots, a few stems of baby’s breath, and some plastic Easter eggs to brighten the inside of the dough bowl.
My favorite vintage brass bird salt and pepper shakers complete the dining table centerpiece. The arrangement took only minutes and is a great centerpiece for a large table. The height will not distract your guests from enjoying each other’s company.

Cabbage and Bunnies In Dough Bowl
While I was working on the dough bowl arrangement, I couldn’t resist creating a couple of centerpiece ideas using the DIY Coffee Filter Paper Cabbages that were shared earlier this Spring.
I used the straw bunny for this centerpiece, but removed everything but the carrots. I placed the bunny in the center of the bowl and added the carrots in front. Then I arranged the paper cabbages to surround the bunny.

Next, I switched out the straw bunny for a few of my moss bunnies.

For this Easter centerpiece, I moved all the paper cabbages to one side and placed the large bunny at the end with a bundle of carrots and baby’s breath. To give the centerpiece a rustic feel, I added a clay pot holding more carrots, nestled another bunny amongst the cabbages, and allowed one to hop out and sit on the table.

Insider Tip – Don’t Have Faux Paper Cabbages
I know many of you made the DIY Coffee Filter Cabbages but if you didn’t, here are some ways to achieve this style centerpiece without them.
- You can substitute the paper cabbages with real cabbage leaves for a quick and easy centerpiece. Add them to the centerpiece just before your event.
- Or you could add some small herb plants to the dough bowl and transplant them into your garden after Easter.
- Another idea is to use small faux greenery stems to surround the bunnies.

Small Dough Bowl Centerpiece Ideas
Next, let’s look at some Easter centerpiece ideas using a small dough bowl.
Rustic Bunny Dough Bowl Centerpiece
I have had this copper bunny for several years and love decorating with it all spring and summer. So, I added the copper bunny to the center of the small vintage dough bowl and surrounded it with Spanish moss and old book page decoupaged Easter eggs.
Dried Hydrangea Easter Centerpiece
Using the same small dough bowl, I created a centerpiece vignette on my porch coffee table using dried hydrangeas.

The vignette includes a single dried hydrangea bloom, Spanish moss, napkin decoupaged Easter eggs, and a white porcelain bunny in the small dough bowl. I also included a vintage milk glass vase filled with more hydrangea blooms and a flicker candle on a thrifted candlestick base.

Insider Tip
If you don’t have dried hydrangea blooms, you can use faux blooms to create this look. Just cut or fold the stems to fit under the bunny. I used some filler to hold the bunny above the stems and covered it with the spanish moss.
Narrow Dough Bowl Centerpiece
Finally, I have a long, narrow dough bowl, which I’ve often used as a table centerpiece. It also works well on narrow shelves and a mantel top. For this centerpiece idea, I combined two sizes of moss spheres, a thrifted gold bunny, and napkin-decoupage Easter eggs.

To style this dough bowl, fill it with the moss spheres and add the bunny to one side. Then tuck in a few of your smaller Easter eggs. Easy, peasy!!

In Conclusion:
I hope these Easter Centerpiece ideas have inspired you to think outside the box when decorating for Easter. Here are my best tips:
- Look for centerpiece options with the decor you already own. You can also pull from other areas in your home to create a centerpiece.
- Gather several pieces together to visualize how you can arrange them.
- Look to nature. Gather twigs, greenery, flowers, and other elements from your landscape or garden to use in your arrangements.
- Get creative, if you don’t have exactly what you want, look for substitutes that will work in the short term, such as fresh vegetables, fresh herbs, etc.

Rachel, I just love how you have styled your dough bowls for Easter! They are so pretty! Your pictures are beautiful! I love my large antique dough bowl and I always enjoy styling it for the different seasons and Easter and Christmas. When we moved, several of our friends asked me if they could buy my dough bowl as they just loved it, too. However, I said that it will never be given away as long as I am alive! I really like how you have used those lovely cabbage that you made from the coffee filters. This is something that I still want to do but will have to wait until we are all settled here and have some time. Hope you have a wonderful Easter. I bet you are going to your lovely cottage.
