What Is A Luau Party?
Hosting a Luau Party is a fun party theme because it is usually held outdoors, and the dress is casual and tropical.
You can plan a Luau-themed party for birthdays, engagement parties, anniversary parties, and definitely for a Supper Club Party.
Think about tropical clothing, grass skirts, drinks, and good food.
Supper Club
Today’s Luau is part of our monthly Supper Club series.
If you are joining us for the first time, we are a group of friends who love to entertain, and when entertaining in person wasn’t recommended last year, we started a virtual supper club in January 2021.
We choose a theme for our dinner tables each month, which we post on the 4th Thursday of each month.
Next, we each share a recipe to complete the meal on the 4th Saturday.
We have one guest blogger join us each month, and I’m so excited that Libbie from A Life Unfolding is our guest for June.
If you are joining me from Simply 2 Moms, welcome. Didn’t you love AnnMarie’s Luau Table for Adults?

Inspiration for Luau Party Table Decor
When I was planning the Luau Party Table Decor, I was inspired by these tropical napkins.

In addition, I wanted the napkins to have a unique fold, so I used the tulip napkin fold with a woven napkin ring.

Budget Luau Table Decor
One of the first ideas was to use grass skirts around the table’s edge.
This was accomplished with a trip to the Dollar Tree, where I found grass skirts and lai’s for the guests.

How To Add Grass Skirt To Table
I wanted to use budget Laui table decor since this was a party theme I would not regularly repeat.
First, the grass skirts were budget-friendly and cost only $1.25 at Dollar Tree.
Next, I purchased inexpensive pink fabric for the tablecloth.
To attach the skirt to the fabric, place the material on the table and add plates to hold it.
Then, using straight pins from the underneath side of the fabric, attach the shirts along the edge of the tabletop.
Once the party is over, the skirts can be removed easily, and the fabric can be used for another project.

Budget Luau Table Decor Centerpiece Ideas
Staying within my budget for Luau Table Decor ideas, I used some dried palm leaves I had found while thrifting in Wilmington, NC.

They look great with the tropical napkins that I planned to use.
I began with a tall ironstone pitcher and added a bundle of faux eucalyptus stems.
Spread the stem out around the lip of the vase and then arrange the dried stems in and among the greenery.
Finally, I used extra raffia to tie a ribbon around the pitcher.

Lastly, I added a real pineapple beside the pitcher to complete the centerpiece.

Table Place Setting
You may remember seeing these Budget-Friendly DIY Placemats from last week’s tutorial.
These were also inspired by the Luau Theme. Since the placemats are a statement piece on the table, I opted for simple white ironstone plates.

Here is a step-by-step process for setting up the table.

Finishing Touches
Gold and acrylic cutlery were added to add some warm touches to the tablescape.

The green water goblets add tropical greens to the table setting, and clear wine glasses are the final touch to the budget Luau table decor.

Both the green goblets and wine glasses are thrift store finds.

In addition, you can create a more tropical feel by adding ferns and other greenery around the landscape and beside the table.

The table is in the garden area next to the pool to give the setting a vacation feel.
